Did you know that airflow is critical when it comes to a clothes dryer? If the airflow is restricted from the dryer to the dryer vent to the outer opening of the duct this could cause serious problems.
What kind of problems you may ask?
1. A crimped duct or exhaust hose in the back of the dryer can lead to a dryer overheating. Overheating can lead to the dryer catching on fire. In one case the parts in the inside of the dryer melted after it was discovered that the dryer was overheating.
2. A lint-clogged dryer can also cause problems. As a matter lint is the biggest culprit in dryer fires. When lint gets inside the dryer,in the duct or around the dryer area it can be ignite by a spark or extreme heat. Lint is highly combustible.
3. Another problem is the dryer duct. Plastic ducts burn and should be replace with metal ducts.
